Young Life

Last weekend we had our first Young Life leader retreat/meeting. I honestly had a great time and am stoked about Young Life this year. In the past I have had very negative feelings toward the organization, my team, my small group, the people associated with Young Life and everything along those lines. It's truly a God given peace that I am feeling. I have never been more excited about a team or a club.

gurls. (minus Agneta)

Seth Rodriguez joined Lanier on Wednesday! He is from Oregon and seriously has some of the best stories. He creepily reminds Jared and I of this guy named Nate we interned with last summer. Seth though is a way better version of Nate. John Nelson is also volunteering his time and guitar abilities to our team. So ironically my young life team is a 3:1 guy to girl ratio. If you know anything about Young Life then you know that is extremely uncommon.

Also, I am super pumped about being on the same team as some of my old teammates. Jonathan, Sally, Ek, Theresa and I were all placed on the team at the same time. I served with them for an entire year at Reagan and have missed being apart of that team. Everything about Northeast Austin Young Life is making sense.

Our first club is Monday and I have the highest hopes.

First Day and Football

The dreadful day has come. School has begun.
Summer is gone. It feels oh so wrong.
There is only one thing I love about fall
and that my friend is FOOTBALL.

It just comes natural, my poetic tongue. I know you're impressed. Anyways this is true, School has started. I'm only taking 7 hours this semester so I plan on having a lot of free time, which will be filled with a job. And that job happens to be THE business analyst at VR Business Sales. Haven't done much yet since I only started a week ago. Working there about 15 hours a week. Anymore and I think I would lose my mind.

The first football game was Saturday the 31st of August. Seriously I am so dang excited about football season. IT IS MY FAVORITE. Plus the Texans, and JJ Watt ( WHO IS MY HUSBAND) are doing amazing. I call them playing in the Super Bowl.

Grace and I at her tailgate right before the game.

And everybody else that was there.

Right after the football game Rachel and I left for Houston. She needed to pick up some stuff for them for her apartment. I went along since I have a car and she doesn't. I did talk my mom into buying me a new car battery and some clothes for work. THANKS MOM. You got suckered, but I love you.

We went on a sunrise swim. This actually happens a lot.

Then my sweet brother aka the gRi!! M@s+eR made us some BBQ chicken. He actually didn't want to wear the apron but I made him put it on so I could take a picture. See brother you may be 6'7 but you still have to do what your older sister tells you.

SENIOR YEAR HAS BEGUN. Please say a prayer for me. Who knows what kind of mess I can get myself into this year.

Senior Year BUCKET LIST

Senior Year starts in 5 days. How crazy is that? I seriously am having trouble believing I started college almost exactly three years ago. So much has changed in three years. So much has stayed the same.

I am fully committed to blogging the most important parts of my last year at Texas. A school I love so much. There is so much I need to do before I leave Austin, which is why I made a bucket list (most of which are restaurants). Go Local.

The list is located at the bottom of the page. I will be making add-ons as I continue to think of more things. Check it out!
